Are Soap Bars Sanitary

A lot of the general public these days are led to believe that Bars of Soap are dirty or unhygienic but we know different here at Birchtree Farm, we want to tell you about the many benefits of Bars of Soap and de-bunk some of that Soapy Slander!

Soap Bars have evolved to become so much more than the chemical rich soaps that stripped your skin of its natural oils and left them sore and dry That were all so common in the 80's & 90's.

Artisan Soap makers are working hard to change these perceptions and are hand making bars of soap that contain natural skin loving ingredients using old traditional methods to bring the best out of your skin.

As well as being a benefit to you and your family Soap bars reduce the use of plastics which also makes them better for the environment. Providing care is taken with the soap i.e they are kept dry your soap bars are good to use for at least a whole year. They are also easy to travel with because they don't have the same restrictions as liquids when using an airport.

We don't know where the rumours started that bar soap was dirty and unhygienic but we know this to be untrue. Natural soap doesn't harbour germs and bacteria as once thought and we have got science to back it up.

Although we still recommend every member of the family having their own bar studies have proven that although not entirely germ free soap bars contain extremely low amounts of bacteria, actually a lot less than your average flannel or loofa.

Studies going back to 1965 have proven this to the extent that many medical and scientific bodies including the centre for the control of infectious disease approve of the use of Soap bars and make no distinction between bottled soap and barred soap.

letting your soap dry in between uses is a great way of keeping the bacteria levels down and a great way to do this is to use our soap saver bags they ensure your soap is safe, dry and ready to use every time you need it.
