Why Use Our Goat Milk Soap?

In the soaps that we use today, most of the oils come from vegetable origins, like coconut or olive oils. With our goat milk soap, we still use oils like these, but we make the alkaline solution by mixing goat milk with the sodium hydroxide as opposed to using plain water.

You see, goat milk has some amazing properties: It's less allergenic than other milks. It can keep your skin beautifully moisturised, you won't get that tight uncomfortable feeling, particularly on your face, when you have used the soap. You obtain a kind of radiance every day. I mean, if the Queen of the Nile (Cleopatra) is reported to have bathed in donkey milk to have kept her youthful loveliness, the very least that you can do for yourself is to bathe in goat milk.

Goat milk has high levels of vitamin A, which is the skin vitamin, it has retinol, you will have heard that word bandied around in all the fancy skin care commercials, it stimulates skin regeneration. Great for wrinkles and fine lines! It also has higher levels of lactic acid, which is a naturally occurring AHA (alpha hydroxy acid). Benefits of these, again spoken about ad infinitum in skincare circles, include exfoliation, improved skin texture and acne reduction. Uses for AHAs include smoothing of the skin, reducing dark spots and reducing the appearance of scars.
Goat milk is high in cholesterol and fatty acids, helping to restore the skin's lipid barrier, allowing skin to have better water retention. The higher level of saturated and unsaturated fats make using soap made with it more efficient and enjoyable. it lathers better, moisturising and nourishing the skin as it cleanses. It's creaminess lends well to conditions like eczema, psoriasis and dry skin as it keeps skin nourished and hydrated thanks to its non-stripping properties.

There are a multitude of different soaps out there, speaking as someone with really sensitive skin, it's so hard to find one that caters to your needs. Every skin type is unique and everyone has different concerns. In all honesty, I would recommend goat milk to anyone with sensitive skin like me, but as previously stated, not everyone's skin is similar- what works for me might not work for you.

Now, I'm not going to promise that our goat milk soap is going to provide you with the fountain of youth or be perfect for everyone, but what I will say is, I have tried everything from medicated soaps to moisturizing body washes finding them too harsh or too expensive and I felt like I wanted a change, something better for my skin. That's why we, as a family, started to produce our goat milk soap.

I could go on forever about the wonderful properties of goat milk soap and all the fabulous, healthy ingredients that we use in ours, but the best way for you to see and understand why we are so passionate about what we do, is to try it for yourself.
